Independent Film Week is coming up and they are putting out a call for entries. It is one of the largest forums for the discovery of new projects in independent film in the country.
Their Project Forum connects filmmakers with people they need to know ranging from funders, distributors, festival programmers and more. Below are the three sections that are seeking applicants. All text is from the IFP website.
Emerging Storytellers. This section connects writers and writer/directors with producers and agents who can develop, produce, represent and finance their scripts. Recent participants include Destin Daniel Cretton’s Short Term 12; Shaka King’s Newlyweeds; Erin Greenwell’s My Best Day; Matt Porterfield’s Putty Hill, Derek Cianfrance’s Blue Valentine, and Dee Rees’ Pariah. No Borders International Co-Production Market. This section connects established narrative producers with financiers, distributors, sales agents and international partners. Recent participants include David Lowery Ain’t Them Bodies Saints; Behn Zeitlin’s Beasts of the Southern Wild; Rama Burshtein’s Fill The Void; Anais Barbeau-Lavalette’s Inch’Allah; Ry Russo-Young’s Nobody Walks; and Liza Johnson’s Return.
