Julia Roberts is set to star in the film adaptation of best-selling author Harlan Coben’s new novel “Fool Me Once.” Roberts will also produce the film with her partners at Red Om, Lisa Roberts Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill.
The book was released just last week. The thriller centers on Maya, a former special ops pilot who returns home to a shocking surprise. On the nanny cam, Maya sees her two-year-old daughter playing with Joe, Maya’s husband who was murdered weeks earlier. Maya doesn’t know what to believe, or who to trust.
The film is not yet attached to a studio.
Roberts has a busy schedule ahead. She stars in Jodie Foster’s “Money Monster,” which is scheduled to premiere at Cannes in May. She’s also slated to star and produce in both “ADX,” a film about a woman fighting to improve prison conditions, and “Wife 22,” an adaptation of Melanie Gideon’s novel of the same name.
You can catch the Oscar-winner in “Mother’s Day” when the comedy hits theaters April 29.
