What Does Feminism Mean To You? Your Answer Could Win You $4000 And A Trip to NYC

Feminism means lots of different things to lots of different people: So, what exactly does this particular word mean to you? Your answer could get you $4000, a trip to NYC and a byline on SheKnows.

SheKnows Media and the Ms. Foundation have partnered up to launch #TheFWord Video Contest to “ignite conversation on feminism and intersectionality through the lens of powerful, personal storytelling.”

Interested parties are invited to submit original two- to three-minute videos offering their take on the controversial eight-letter word that’s spawned countless debates and discussions.

The contest’s judges include Connie Britton (“Nashville,” “Friday Night Lights”), Teresa C. Younger (President and CEO of the Ms. Foundation), Shiri Appleby (“UnREAL”) and Franchesca Ramsey (“The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,” “Broad City”).

The deadline to submit is March 4. For more information, see below. For complete details and instructions on how to submit, visit #TheFWord Video Contest’s site.

Make us laugh, make us cry, but make us feel something about #TheFWord: Feminism.

Individuals who are over 18 and living in the US or Canada of all genders, ethnicities and points of view are invited to submit original two- to three-minute videos describing what feminism means to them. We partnered with the Ms. Foundation to launch this video contest and ignite conversation on feminism and intersectionality through the lens of powerful, personal storytelling.

We’ll be judging your video based on 3 main criteria: 1) Creativity, 2) Quality and 3) Originality. Entries can take any tone or use any storytelling format, but all should use good high-quality video and audio production. You should own the rights to any image, art or music that you use.
