Tig Notaro to Team Up With Diablo Cody on Semi-Autobiographical Amazon Pilot

After being the subject of a Netflix documentary and releasing her own HBO stand-up special (out August 22), Tig Notaro will star in an Amazon series based in part on her (recently turbulent) life.

The semi-autobiographical comedy, which has received a pilot order from Amazon, will be written by Notaro and Diablo Cody. The two women, with Louis CK, will executive produce the single-cam sitcom.

Notaro previously wrote 10 episodes of “Inside Amy Schumer.” In addition to “Inside,” she has also appeared in “Transparent,” “In a World…” and “The Sarah Silverman Program.”

Here’s a description of the show: “Tig Notaro has just recovered from an abdominal disease that has left
her gaunt, wasted, exhausted and pretty much stripped of everything
except her finely honed sense of the absurd. Abruptly summoned home to
Pass Christian, Mississippi, to take her ailing mother off life support, Tig
finds herself dealing with her clingy girlfriend, her dysfunctional Gulf
Coast family and the loss of the one person who held everything
together.”
