Katee Sackhoff to Create and Star in Climate Change-Themed Sci-Fi Series ‘Rain’

“Battlestar Galactica” actress Katee Sackhoff will return to the future in “Rain,” a sci-fi series that she created, wrote and will star in.

Sackhoff’s Fly Free Productions will partner with Reunion Pictures for the project, an “evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff),” according to Deadline. The sci-fi drama will focus on such issues as global warming and the role that science plays in nature’s decline.

Sackhoff will also executive produce the series. The actress currently co-stars in the crime drama “Longmire,” which aired on A&E for three seasons and will continue its run on Netflix.
