Meera Menon to Direct Female-Driven Wall Street Drama ‘Equity’

“Farah Goes Bang” director Meera Menon has found her next project.

Broad Street Pictures has chosen Menon to helm “Equity,” which the production company bills as the first female-driven Wall Street film. The drama centers on an investment banker who uncovers a web of corruption on the eve of a disastrous financial scandal.

Menon was the inaugural winner of the Tribeca Film Festival’s Nora Ephron Prize. She is also a fellow at 20th Century Fox’s Global Directors initiative.

Broad Street was founded last year by actresses Alysia Reiner (“Orange is the New Black”) and Sarah Megan Thomas (“Backwards”) to make more films with women in front of and behind the camera.

Shooting for “Equity” is to begin this July in New York and Philadelphia.
