America Ferrera Returns to TV in NBC’s Single-Cam Comedy ‘Superstore’

America Ferrera’s finally back!

The Emmy and Golden Globe winner has signed on to her first TV series since “Ugly Betty” wrapped up its four-season run in 2010. Ferrera will star in and produce “Superstore,” which sounds like “The Office” set in a Costco-like emporium. The Hollywood Reporter describes the single-camera comedy’s characters as “a disparate group of employees working at a big-box store in Middle America.”

Ferrera will play Amy, a dedicated and responsible floor supervisor who’s been at the Cloud 9 store for a decade. She eventually falls for one of her employees, the impish Jonah (Ben Feldman, AKA Michael Ginsberg on “Mad Men”), who seems to be her opposite.
