Teaser Watch: Zoey Deutch Is a Vigilante in “Flower”

“Flower”

ARed Band teaser trailer has dropped for Zoey Deutch-starrer “Flower.” “I know what goes down in this town behind closed doors,” says Erica (Deutch). And the 17-year-old feels compelled to do something about it. “We’re vigilantes,” she explains. “It’s our moral obligation.” But the fact that we see her threatening to take someone’s money rather than take him to court suggests that she’s less concerned about her moral obligation than seizing opportunities to make cash.

Erica lives with “her single mom Laurie (Kathryn Hahn) and mom’s new boyfriend Bob (Tim Heidecker) in suburban Los Angeles,” “Flower’s” official synopsis details. “When Bob’s mentally unbalanced son Luke (Joey Morgan) arrives from rehab to live with the family, Erica finds her domestic and personal life overwhelmed. With Luke and sidekicks Kala (Dylan Gelula) and Claudine (Maya Eshet) in tow, Erica acts out by exposing the kinky secrets of sexy high-school teacher Will (Adam Scott), with perilous results; their teenage kicks become a catalyst for growing up in unexpected and unpredictable ways.”

We see Erica and Co. behaving like typical teens — taking selfies, going bowling, and indulging in munchies — but also fleeing local law enforcement.

Deutch’s previous credits include “Before I Fall,” “Why Him?” and “Everybody Wants Some!!”

Directed and co-written by Max Winkler (“Ceremony”), “Flower” hits select theaters March 16, 2018. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in April.
