Trailer Watch: The Killing Has More Killings on Its Fourth and Final Season on Netflix

The twice-canceled, thrice-resurrected crime series The Killing will resume on Netflix starting August 1.

In its fourth and final season, lead detectives Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) attempt to cover up Linden’s murder of their serial-killing boss from last season’s finale while investigating the massacre of a famiy in which the lone survivor (and prime suspect) is a member of a military academy.

Showrunner Veena Sud’s final six episodes are intended to wrap up The Killing’s Seattle-set storylines as well as plunge Linden and Holder into one more gruesome case. Joan Allen joins the cast as a military officer fiercely protective of that lone survivor, as does Frances Fisher as the mother who abandoned Linden as a girl.
