While we wait for The ExpendaBelles to arrive, mockbuster-factory The Asylum has churned out Mercenaries, a prison break-out-then-break-in action thriller starring Kristanna Loken, Zoe Bell, Vivica A. Fox, Nicole Bilderback, and Expendables mastermind Sylvester Stallone’s ex-wife Brigitte Nielsen.
The whole thing honestly looks like exploitative cheese, with Loken, Bell, Fox, and Bilderback playing a quartet of convicted hired guns who’ll gain their freedom once they rescue a diplomat hated by Nielsen’s villainness. But stuntwoman Bell (Raze) is the real deal when it comes to kicking ass, and so even the sight of her throwing punches and landing blows is at least worth, well, watching the trailer.
Mercenaries hits (get it?) theaters on August 8.
