Now that film romantic comedies have gone the way of the dinosaur, and while TV continues to provide rich, substantial roles to women, Sarah Jessica Parker is eyeing a return to the small screen.
Parker is currently attached to a cop drama based on Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker’s police thriller Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love. Busted itself is based on Ruderman and Laker’s nonfiction book of the same name, which chronicles their discovery of one of the biggest corruption scandals in the history of the Philadelphia police department.
Parker would play one half of the core partnership at the heart of the investigation. After seeing her as the lovelorn Carrie Bradshow for a dozen years in the Sex and the City franchise, it would be interesting to see her in a radically different role. Plus, potential bonus: Parker speaking in a cheesesteak-soaked Philly accent!
