The Final Girl — the purehearted stock character who turns the tables on the killer by the end of the horror movie — has become so famous she’s gotten her own movie.
A blonde Abigail Breslin plays a version of her in the upcoming Final Girl. She’s initially the target of a pack of psychopathic rich boys who like to ask out unsuspecting girls around town, then stalk after them in the woods with axes in hand. But Veronica, Breslin’s character, seems to have come prepared for this turn of events. As seen in the trailer, she knows her way around an ax too, as well as a chokehold and noose.
No release date has yet been announced, but the film is slated to open later this year.
