Pamela Adlon is on her knees puking in a toilet in a new trailer for “Better Things'” third season, and that’s the least of her problems. “Did you drink too much last night? Are you pregnant? Is that even possible?” Frankie (Hannah Alligood) asks Sam (Adlon). The cruelty from her middle daughter is just one of the many factors causing stress in the single mom’s life. “There’s also mean girl issues with my youngest and birth control with my oldest,” Sam explains.

Plus, Sam is convinced her mother has “mental something disorder,” and she herself is “definitely going through menopause,” yet still has her period and a beard.

The actress can’t help but wonder if she’s “completely screwing everything up.”

Adlon co-created “Better Things” and has received two Emmy nods for her acting in the comedy. She directed every episode of Season 3, which premieres on FX February 28.
