Trailer Watch: Kristen Bell Returns to Neptune in “Veronica Mars” Season 4

"Veronica Mars"

Neptune, California hasn’t seen the last of Veronica Mars. “I spent my first 19 years trying to escape my hometown. Made it out, then after a decade away, decided it needed me, and I needed it,” says Veronica (Kristen Bell) in a new trailer for “Veronica Mars'” long-awaited fourth season. The former lawyer has returned to her PI roots, and is back at Mars Investigations alongside her Dad (Enrico Colantoni). The pair are teaming up to take down a serial killer terrorizing Neptune’s Spring breakers — and the town’s tourist industry.

“After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach,” Season 4’s official synopsis hints.

The third — and seemingly final — season of “Veronica Mars” aired on The CW in 2007. The beloved cult series’ fans later rallied together to fund a feature based on the series. Titled “Veronica Mars,” the pic was released in 2014 and saw Bell reprising her breakout role and series creator Rob Thomas directing and co-writing alongside Diane Ruggiero.

Bell currently stars on NBC afterlife comedy “The Good Place.” “A Bad Moms Christmas” and “Like Father” are among her recent credits. She’ll voice Princess Anna in “Frozen 2,” set to bow November 22. A new trailer for the Disney pic depicts Anna and sister Elsa embarking on an epic adventure through enchanted land.

The fourth season of “Veronica Mars” kicks off July 26 on Hulu. Check out the trailer to see lots of familiar faces from the original cast, including Veronica’s on-again boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring).
