Mckenna Grace’s rapidly expanding resume is adding another impressive title: the actress is set to make history as one of Hollywood’s youngest producers. The 12-year-old “Gifted” star will topline and produce “Rabbit Cake” for Amazon Studios. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” helmer Susan Johnson is directing. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news.

Based on Annie Hartnett’s celebrated 2017 novel of the same name, “Rabbit Cake” tells the story of Elvis Babbitt (Grace), a girl whose head “is filled with facts. When her mother drowns while sleepwalking, the girl decides to investigate the strange circumstances, going on a journey to figure out her place in the world and finding comfort in the people and animals of her Alabama town,” the source summarizes.

Black List writer Allie Hagan penned the script.

“Captain Marvel,” “Designated Survivor,” and “The Haunting of Hill House” are among Grace’s many acting credits. She can be seen in horror pic “Annabelle Comes Homes,” a “Conjuring” title that just hit theaters. Her upcoming projects include Bert & Bertie’s “Troop Zero,” a comedy about a group of misfit scouts, and the untitled “Ghostbusters” sequel.

“Black-ish” actress Marsai Martin was 14 when she exec produced and starred in “Little,” a Universal comedy released earlier this year. The pic tells the story of a woman who reverts to her younger self when adulthood becomes too much to bear.

Johnson’s last feature, 2018’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” was one of Netlix’s “most viewed original films ever with strong repeat viewing.” A sequel for the rom-com is in the works with Lana Condor reprising her leading role. Johnson isn’t returning to the project as a director, but she is exec producing. It was recently announced that she’ll step behind the camera for an untitled Disney+ fairy tale. She made her feature debut with 2016 Bel Powley-starrer “Carrie Pilby.”
