Sophie Kinsella’s best-seller “Can You Keep A Secret?” is on its way to the screen. Vertical Entertainment snagged the U.S. distribution rights to the film adaptation with plans for a September 13 release in theaters and on VOD, according to a press release.
The rom-com is directed by Elise Duran (“Finding Sarah”) and exec produced by Alexandra Daddario, who also stars. The latter plays Emma, who “mistakenly reveals all her deepest secrets to a handsome stranger sitting next to her when her plane hits turbulence. At least, she thought he was a stranger… until she later meets Jack, her company’s young CEO, who now knows every humiliating detail about her.”
“Can You Keep A Secret?” hails from BCDF Pictures, 120dB Films, Embankment Films, and Big Indie Pictures. Kimiko Glenn of “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse” and Laverne Cox of “Orange Is the New Black” co-star.
Duran’s past directing credits include the documentary “Being Chaz” and the TV series “Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys.”
“Baywatch,” “The House,” “American Horror Story,” and “We Have Always Lived in the Castle” are among Daddario’s more recent projects.
