“We are two badass queens like those bitches who raised Wonder Woman,” Tiffany Haddish tells Rose Byrne in a new trailer for “Like a Boss.” “We’ve worked our asses off. We opened our own store. We’re winning.” But their bank accounts suggest otherwise. The BFFs and business owners are nearly $500,000 in debt.
Strapped for cash, the pair receive a perfectly timed buyout offer by an exec, played by Salma Hayek. “If you want to be a businesswoman, you’re going to have to act like a boss,” she tells the friends. Unfortunately, her definition of acting like a boss is acting like an exploitative jerk — she steals Haddish and Byrne’s ideas.
Haddish broke out with 2017’s “Girls Trip.” You can catch her in Andrea Berloff mob drama “The Kitchen,” in theaters now.
Byrne received two Emmy nods for her role in “Damages.” “Instant Family” and “Juliet, Naked” are among her recent credits.
Hayek scored an Oscar nod for her role in “Frida.” Her recent credits include “Beatriz at Dinner” and “The Hummingbird Project.”
“Like a Boss” arrives in theaters January 10.
