Riding on the success of Elisabeth Moss-starrer “The Invisible Man,” Universal is relaunching another classic monster property. The studio is developing a “Wolfman” pic penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo with Ryan Gosling expected to star. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news.
Described as “having a vibe that evokes ‘Network’ (1976) and ‘Nightcrawler’ (2014),” the script reportedly centers on an anchorman who gets infected.
Blum and Angelo wrote for “Orange Is the New Black.”
Released earlier this year, “The Invisible Man” tells the story of a woman being tormented by her abusive ex, a wealthy and brilliant scientist whom she’s told is dead. The critically acclaimed horror pic took in over $122 million.
Other monster pics in the works at Universal include Elizabeth Banks’ “The Invisible Woman” and Karyn Kusama’s “Dracula.’
