Jessica Chastain continues to add to her packed slate. The actress’ production company, Freckle Films, along with producer Kristen Campo (“The Killing,” “The L Word: Generation Q”), and Endeavor Content have acquired the rights to adapt Alice Feeney’s latest novel, “His & Hers,” for TV. Deadline confirmed the news.
Chastain and Freckle Films’ Kelly Carmichael will executive produce, along with Campo.
“His & Hers” centers on “DCI Jack Harper and BBC newsreader Anna Andrews, whose paths cross for the first time following their divorce when a woman is found murdered in their hometown. Anna is reluctant to cover the case and Jack becomes suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation,” the source summarizes.
Published in the UK by HarperCollins in May, the book is set for a July release in the U.S. by Flatiron. It follows Feeney’s debut novel “Sometimes I Lie,” which was a New York Times bestseller and is also being developed for television with Sarah Michelle Gellar set to star. Robin Swicord (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) is penning that adaptation.

Chastain has long been vocal about inclusivity both on screen and behind the scenes, using her platform to speak up about wage gap inequality, workplace harassment, underrepresentation of women in the industry, and depictions of women in the media.
Freckle Films is also in post-production on “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” based on the story of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker; and on spy thriller “355,” which will see Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, and Penelope Cruz star alongside Chastain.
Chastain received Oscar nominations for her roles in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Help.” She was most recently seen in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” and “It Chapter Two.”
Campo’s other credits include series “Truth Be Told,” “See,” and “The Comedians,” all of which she served on as executive producer.
