FYI: “If you’ve had sex after the year 1991, then you do have HPV.” A new Red Band trailer has dropped for Lucia Aniello’s “Rough Night,” and it’s full of gems like this. The ensemble comedy sees Scarlett Johansson playing Jess, a bride-to-be reunited with her college friends, played by Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”), Zoë Kravitz (“Big Little Lies”), Ilana Glazer (“Broad City”), and Jillian Bell (“Workaholics”).
The group is celebrating Jess’ upcoming nuptials with a bachelorette weekend, and their big night out include selfie sticks, cocaine-fueled dance numbers, and helpful vocab lessons. A human friendipede is “a photo we always take like the movie ‘Human Centipede’ where they’re sewn together mouth to anus. But it’s with friends so it’s special,” we’re told. The party takes an unexpectedly dark turn when an overeager attempt to mount a male stripper leads to his death.
Aniello co-wrote “Rough Night,” which marks her feature directorial debut. She’s helmed episodes of “Time Traveling Bong,” “Broad City,” and “Other Space.”
“Rough Night” hits theaters June 16.
