Join the Girls Club for a Conversation with Catherine Hardwicke About “Don’t Look Deeper”

Catherine Hardwicke

The Girls Club will welcome Catherine Hardwicke for a discussion about “Don’t Look Deeper,” her new Quibi show. The event will take place Tuesday, July 28, at 4 p.m. EST.

Hardwicke made her feature debut with “Thirteen,” a coming-of-age drama that garnered numerous awards and nominations including the Director’s Award at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival, Golden Globe nominations for Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood, an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Holly Hunter, and an Independent Spirit Award for Nikki Reed. She is perhaps best known for directing “Twilight,” which launched the worldwide blockbuster franchise. Her book “The Twilight Director’s Notebook” was an international bestseller, and translated into 20 languages.

“Miss Bala,” “Miss You Already,” and “The Lords of Dogtown” are among Hardwicke’s other features. Her small screen credits include “This Is Us” and the pilots of “Reckless” and “EyeWitness.”

Set in Merced, California, “15 minutes into the future,” “Don’t Look Deeper” centers on a high school senior (Helena Howard) who can’t seem to shake the feeling that something about her just isn’t right. She’s not human. This revelation of what she really is, where she comes from, and who has started looking for her, sets in motion a series of events that suddenly puts her entire life in jeopardy.

Check out a trailer for “Don’t Look Deeper” below. The show premieres on Quibi July 27.

The Girls Club conversation with Hardwicke is open to the public. Remember to register in advance.
