Sally Hawkins is convinced “there’s no such thing as happiness — only moments of not being depressed” in a new trailer for “Eternal Beauty.” The two-time Oscar nominee stars as a woman with paranoid schizophrenia.
The drama sees Jane (Hawkins) being dumped at the altar, having a breakdown, and spiraling “into a chaotic world, where love (both real and imagined) and family relationships collide with both touching and humorous consequences,” the film’s synopsis details.
The trailer shows Jane taking an unconventional approach to exchanging gifts during the holiday season. “I don’t want to cause anyone any offence, but I bought my own presents this year. I just need the money now,” she tells her family members.
Hawkins scored Oscar nominations for “The Shape of Water” and “Blue Jasmine.” She was last seen in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”
“Eternal Beauty” lands on VOD October 2.
