Louise Linton’s “Me You Madness” Acquired by STX

"Me You Madness"

Louise Linton’s feature directorial debut has found a home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, STX acquired U.S. rights to “Me You Madness,” and Highland will shop the “campy comedy-thriller” to buyers at next week’s American Film Market, which is being held virtually this year due to COVID-19.

Written by and starring Linton, the pic tells the story of “a beautiful, ruthlessly ambitious, intelligent, and successful businesswoman who lives a life of luxury in Malibu. She has no need for a man except to satisfy her natural serial killer instinct, literally. When Tyler (Ed Westwick), a petty thief, responds to her online roommate ad, he thinks he’s struck gold. He has no idea that after a night of partying and passion, he is really just on her menu to be her next victim until real romance gets in the way,” THR hints.

“Louise is an amazing talent and can really do it all. She has created a crazy, funny, electrifying story that ticks all the boxes for our international partners. It’s glamorous, irreverent, romantic, and full of lip-smacking thrills. We could not have wished for more,” said Highland CEO Arianne Fraser, who runs the production, sales, and financing company with Delphine Perrier.

Linton added, “Thanks to my killer crew and cast, the movie is every bit the playful ’80s homage I dreamed of when I wrote it. It was a joyful set, even under pressure.”

STX is planning to release “Me You Madness” mid-February via VOD.

Linton’s acting credits include “Rules Don’t Apply” and “Cabin Fever.” Her husband, Steven Mnuchin, currently serves as U.S. Treasury Secretary, but it looks like his tenure at the White House is coming to a close.
