This election cycle may be over and in this day and age not a second passes until the next cycle begins. The speculation has begun that the always outspoken and intelligent Ashley Judd could be running for Senate in her home state of Kentucky. Multiple outlets have already pitted Judd against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in the 2014 race. It is a race that U.S. Rep John Yarmuth of Louisville thinks could be “as high profile a race as Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown.”
Judd, in a statement, doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of running against McConnell but does hedge.
I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.
Male celebrities like as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Franken and Clint Eastwood have all held elected office. Judd is clearly interested in public service. She clearly qualified. She has a history of activism and recently got a Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
