Lynn Chen is set to helm the final installment of the Goh Nakamura film trilogy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress will direct her first feature, indie “I Will Make You Mine,” a sequel to 2011’s “Surrogate Valentine” and 2012’s “Daylight Savings.” Chen wrote the script and will also star.

“Surrogate Valentine” and “Daylight Savings” follow the relationship travails — both platonic and romantic — of musician Goh Nakamur, who plays himself.

“I Will Make You Mine” revolves around three women who have romantic histories with Goh and the dramatic changes they encounter as they enter their early 40s. Chen, Ayako Fujitani, and Yea-Ming Chen will portray the three main characters.

Lynn Chen appeared in both “Surrogate Valentine” and “Daylight Savings.” Fujitani and Yea-Ming Chen acted in the latter as well.

Dave Boyle, the director of the trilogy’s previous two films, will produce “I Will Make You Mine.” Production will soon begin in Los Angeles. Tamlyn Tomita, Joy Osmanski, Christy Meyers, Mike Faiola, and Jeff Meacham will co-star.

“I Will Make You Mine is a reunion,” Chen stated. “I’ve always been curious about what ended up happening to all of these characters I loved getting to know. I feel it’s important to finally offer the female perspective — to go deeper into the lives of these women and see how they think and operate when they’re not around Goh.”

“Lynn Chen is one of my favorite collaborators,” Boyle said. “Reading her script and hearing her vision for the film was very inspiring, and I’m excited for people to discover her voice. I have no doubt her film will outshine the previous two installments — in addition to working as a standalone story.”

Chen’s acting credits include “The Affair,” “Fear the Walking Dead,” and “Silicon Valley.” She’s produced short film “Via Text” and series “Nice Girls Crew.” She starred in both and wrote the former.
