Seventh Row, a non-profit cinema publication, will welcome Agnieszka Holland for its next Lockdown Film School event. A livestreamed series of conversations with filmmakers, Lockdown Film School has previously hosted Alice Winocour, Amma Asante, Penny Lane, and more. Holland will sit down to chat on May 30 at 5 p.m. EST, a press release has announced.
The conversation with Holland will be “wide-ranging, encompassing her early breakout films ‘Europa Europa’ and ‘The Secret Garden’ and her more recent work in TV and film,” the source teases. “The session will build on Holland’s insights on her approach to her craft that she shared in Seventh Row’s recent profile of the filmmaker.”
Holland received an Oscar nomination for her screenplay for “Europa Europa.” She counts “Spoor,” “Mr. Jones,” and episodes of “The Wire” among her many credits. Her most recent film, “Charlatan,” premiered at the Berlinale last year.
Sponsored by Birds’ Eye View, an org advocating for gender equality in film, the Lockdown Film School event with Holland is free to attend via Zoom. You can register on Seventh Row’s website.
