Alice Winocour’s Astronaut Drama “Proxima” Gets a Release Date, New Trailer

"Proxima"

Alice Winocour’s space mission is coming stateside. Vertical Entertainment snagged North American rights to the French filmmaker’s latest, “Proxima,” an astronaut drama led by Eva Green. Deadline reports that the pic will hit VOD and digital November 6.

Penned by Winocour, “Proxima” tells the story of Sarah (Eva Green), an astronaut and single mother. After being chosen to be part of the crew of a year-long space mission, Sarah struggles to balance her professional responsibilities with her sense of duty to her daughter.

“Augustine” and “Disorder” are among Winocour’s previous credits.

Green’s credits include “Penny Dreadful,” “Dumbo,” and “Casino Royale.”

Check out a new trailer for “Proxima” below. “There’s no such thing as a perfect astronaut — just like there’s no such thing as a perfect mother,” Sarah is told in the spot.
