Amanda Kloots’ life story is coming to the big screen. She’s teaming up with Di Novi Pictures producers Denise Di Novi and Margaret French Isaac on a film adaptation of her memoir, “Live Your Life.” Kloots is penning the screenplay with her sister, Anna Kloots, who also co-authored the book. Deadline broke the news.
Kloots, who is currently a co-host on “The Talk,” rose to fame when her husband, Tony-nominated Broadway star Nick Cordero, was battling COVID-19 in the hospital. She shared her experiences on social media, attracting a major following for her positive attitude, prayers, and daily dance to her husband’s song “Live Your Life.” He died after 94 days in the ICU.
The book sees Kloots reflecting on “love, loss, and life” with Cordero. Di Novi and French Isaac described it as a “powerful love story set against a devastating period in our lives. It’s about love, faith, community, and resiliency, and we feel honored that Amanda and Anna wanted to collaborate with us to tell Amanda’s deeply personal story,” they emphasized.
Kloots added, “Anna and I are very grateful to Denise and Margaret for giving us this opportunity to share this story in a new way. With their guidance we are enjoying the process of working together again to shape my memoir into a film.”
A former Rockette and Broadway performer, Kloots’ credits include “Bullets Over Broadway.”
