America Ferrera Heads Back to Television

America Ferrera is heading back to television screens in her first leading role since Ugly Betty.

Ferrera will headline Damascus, playing a nun in law school who uses her studies to benefit the less fortunate. When she meets a corporate lawyer who tests her beliefs, the two team up to help those in need. They come across a dangerous and secretive organization that is determined to destroy the pair. CBS won the bidding for the project with a put pilot commitment.

Ferrera will executive produce the show with Nick Osborne. Ugly Betty producer, Teri Weinberg, will also executive produce.

Ferrera will be seen in this season of The Good Wife, reprising her guest role as Natalie Flores.
