Andrea Savage is going to apologize for at least another year. “I’m Sorry,” the TruTV comedy she created, executive produces, and toplines, has been renewed for a third season set for broadcast in 2020, Deadline reports.
“I’m Sorry” sees Savage playing a fictionalized version of herself. Andrea is a comedy writer, wife, mother, and daughter who is equal parts self-assured, neurotic, and vulgar. She tends to get herself into awkward situations that are exacerbated by her candid, acidic sense of humor. “I’m Sorry’s” cast also includes Kathy Baker, Tom Everett Scott, and Olive Petrucci.
“I am so, so thrilled to have another season to prove wrong the theory that just because you are a mom, you are not allowed to find buttholes funny,” Savage joked. “#godswork.”
“I’m Sorry’s” Season 2 finale aired in March. Without getting into specific numbers, TruTv said that the series’ audience grew throughout its sophomore season. Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes.
Savage has directed three episodes of “I’m Sorry.” She also helmed, wrote, and appeared in pro-choice comedy short “Republicans, Get in My Vagina.” “Veep,” “Episodes,” and “iZombie” are among her on-screen credits.
