Apply Now: Everywoman Studios and Realscreen’s Propelle Accelerator Program

Everywoman Studios CEO Abby Greensfelder

Everywoman Studios, a studio dedicated to women-created content and cause-related social campaigns, and Realscreen, an international magazine focused on non-fiction film and TV, have teamed up on a new female-focused accelerator program. Applications are now being accepted for Propelle, a program designed to “bring more female creators into the non-fiction ecosystem and have more diverse voices creating content,” per a press release.

“Propelle aims to further develop the careers of up-and-coming female creators by pairing them with female-owned production companies and female CEOs for project workshopping and mentoring,” according to the release. “This provides female creators with access to an established production company and a network of industry contacts in addition to getting business advice and creative direction on developing pitch-ready and sellable ideas.”

Everywoman CEO Abby Greensfelder first announced the accelerator during a panel, “Propelling Women in the Unscripted Industry: The Road Ahead,” at the Realscreen Summit in New Orleans

Each year, Everywoman Studios and Realscreen will recruit two women-owned production companies to partner with Everywoman and evaluate submitted Propelle projects. Each partner will select one finalist. The three finalists will receive mentorship and workshopping as they prepare to pitch their ideas to potential network partners. One winner will receive $20,000 along with the chance to develop their project with Everywoman Studios.

Nutopia founder Jane Root and Bristow Global Media founder Julie Bristow will partner with Everywoman for the 2020 program.

“As a female creator and production company head who has been on both the buy and sell sides of the business, there is a glaring hole in the world of non-fiction when it comes to female-created content,” said Greensfelder. “Propelle aims to work with new and diverse voices who will bring new stories and fresh perspectives to the table.”

To apply for Propelle 2020 you must complete an online entry form via Realscreen. A pitch presentation, a short video, a statement explaining how Propelle will benefit you, and a resume are also among the requirements.

Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, March 27.

The finalists will be announced in April, and the winner will be selected at Realscreen West, in Dana Point, CA, in June.

Go to Realscreen West’s website to apply to Propelle or find other information.
