Credit: EWA

The European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA) is offering a scriptwriter residency in Berlin from January 20 to February 17, 2017. This program is an “initiative dedicated to supporting the next generation of screenwriting talents among EWA members, and helping them enter the industry with the best script possible.”

The screenwriting residency will be offered to one woman scriptwriter/director. The selectee will be mentored by script consultant Suzanne Pradel, work with Pradel before the Berlinale film festival, and attend and network at the Berlinale’s European Film Market (EFM).

In order to be eligible for this program, you must be a member of the EWA — if you are not currently a member, you can become one. Also, you must be a woman scriptwriter and/or director with a European nationality and residency. You will need to have written or directed at least one feature film (fiction or documentary) that was distributed in at least one European country via theatrical release, TV, or festival circuit. A first draft of a full-length feature fiction film in English is part of the application requirement.

Applications will be accepted until November 1, 2016. The winner will be selected by a committee of three industry experts, who will review the applications and pick the best project.

For more information on the residency and how to apply, head over to the EWA’s site.
