An Oscar, multiple Golden Globes, Emmy, and BAFTA are just a few of the many honors Nicole Kidman has collected along her 30-plus-year career in the film and television industry. She’s amassed dozens of credits, and now the “Big Little Lies” star will share what she’s learned in the process with the The British Academy of Film and Television Arts. She’ll be hosted by BAFTA and discuss her eclectic career at a special BAFTA A Life in Pictures event in London, a press release announced. The event will take place November 21 in London.
A long-running series of onstage interviews, BAFTA A Life in Pictures sees industry leaders sharing insights and experiences about their craft. The series has hosted the likes of Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, and Viola Davis.
Kidman won a BAFTA for Virginia Woolf biopic “The Hours,” which she also took home an Oscar for. The Time’s Up advocate also received Oscar nods for “Lion,” “Rabbit Hole,” and “Moulin Rouge!”
The Australian actress can currently be seen on the big screen in gay conversion drama “Boy Erased.” She toplines “Destroyer,” Karyn Kusama’s crime thriller about a detective haunted by her past. The pic hits theaters December 25. “The Beguiled,” “Top of the Lake,” and “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” are among her recent film credits. Kidman will reprise her role as Celeste in “Big Little Lies'” sophomore season. The murder mystery has wrapped filming, but a premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. Andrea Arnold (“American Honey”) directed every ep of the upcoming season, and Streep joined the cast.
Kidman has gone public with her commitment to working with more women directors. “I need to be part of the movement that will, hopefully, change the statistics in my field,” she said. The actress and producer emphasized that talking about the issue isn’t enough. “Because, to be an advocate, you have to actually put things into action,” she explained.
