Barbra Streisand To Get Back Behind The Camera

Newflash. Babs is going to get back behind the camera.

According to Showbiz 411, Barbra Streisand who has not directed a film since The Mirror Has Two Faces in 1996 is getting ready to direct Oscar winners Colin Firth and Cate Blanchett in Skinny and Cat a film about the relationship between author Erskine Caldwell and photographer Margaret Bourke-White. Interestingly, this film follows on the heels of Hemingway and Gellhorn, another film about a relationship between an novelist and a female war photographer. There weren’t that many big female war photographers — Bourke-White and Gellhorn are two of the biggest names — and the fact that both had epic affairs with novelists is interesting. The script is written by Linda Yellen.

The film looks to shoot in early 2013.

First up for Streisand is The Guilt Trip with Seth Rogen directed by Anne Fletcher this Christmas.
