“Better Things” Renewed For a Fourth Season

"Better Things"

Sam Fox’s busy life is showing no signs of slowing down. According to Variety, Pamela Adlon’s FX comedy series “Better Things” has been renewed for a fourth season. Season 3 kicked off at the end of February.

Co-created by Adlon, “Better Things” sees veteran character actress Sam (Adlon) raising three daughters (Mikey Madison, Hannah Alligood, and Olivia Edward) on her own, taking care of her ailing mother (Celia Imrie), who lives next door, working constantly, and being an emotional rock for her friends. She also occasionally tries to carve out some time for herself.

Adlon writes, showruns, and executive produces “Better Things.” She directed every episode of Seasons 2 and 3, as well as a few Season 1 installments.

“With every season, ‘Better Things’ becomes more vital, engaging, and revelatory, cementing Pamela Adlon’s status as one of the most accomplished creative forces in television today,” stated FX chairman John Landgraf. “Rarely has there been a show that is so personal and, at the same time, so thoroughly universal in the way it explores modern parenting, family, and life. We are thrilled to extend the series for a fourth season and to continue this incredible partnership with Pamela, her creative team, and the amazing cast of ‘Better Things.’”

“I am humbled, grateful, and excited to tackle another season of stories and continue my creative partnership with my fearless FX team,” Adlon said.

Adlon has scored two Emmy nominations for her performance in “Better Things.” She was last seen on-screen in the Hailee Steinfeld-starring “Transformers” spin-off, “Bumblebee.” A prolific voice actress, her more recent credits also include “Bob’s Burgers,” “Milo Murphy’s Law,” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”

Season 4 of “Better Things” is scheduled to air in 2020. You can catch Season 3 Thursdays on FX.
