It’s time to start counting down the days: “Broad City” is returning in less than two months. Everyone’s favorite BFF stoners are headed back to Comedy Central for the cult comedy’s fourth season September 13, Deadline reports. The premiere date was previously announced as August 23, so unfortunately we’re going to have to wait a little longer than expected.
Based on the trailer for the new season, politics will be a significant presence in Season 4 of the beloved show created by and starring Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson. The clip features Ilana rocking a pink pussy hat as she and Abbi volunteer as abortion clinic escorts. The series may be getting more explicitly political, but the footage also features a lot of well-trodden ground — Ilana’s masturbating hi-jinks, Abbi’s awkward earnestness, and lots and lots of drug-fueled adventures.
“In the new season, Abbi and Ilana get new jobs, celebrate their friendiversary, receive a visit from Abbi’s mom, trip on mushrooms, discover their witchdom, and travel to Florida,” Deadline teases.
Season 4 will be ten episodes. Guest stars include Wanda Sykes, Alysia Reiner (“Orange is the New Black”), and Cynthia Erivo (“Chewing Gum”).
