Chart: The Higher You Go in Hollywood, the Harder Women Directors Are to Find

We all know the woeful statistics about women directors, but a new graphic from FiveThirtyEight illustrates just how the deck is stacked against female filmmakers, especially at the studio and “prestige” levels. The higher you go in Hollywood, the harder it is to find women directors. No wonder only four female helmers have ever been nominated for a Best Director Oscar — and only one has ever won.
