Chelsea Handler Planning a Live, Star-Studded Bash for Her Series Finale

The late night host will depart the airwaves on Tuesday, August 26 — and she’s determined to go out with a bang.

Chelsea Hander, who signed a Netflix deal for four “docu-comedy” specials in 2015 and a new talk show in 2016, will wrapping up seven years of Chelsea Lately with a live, star-studded finale.

The rapper 50 Cent will perform, and over thirty celebrities will make appearances, including Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, and Allison Janney.

By its end, Chelsea Lately will have produced over 1,300 episodes. Handler isn’t to everyone’s tastes, but she deserves credit for creating a forum for her voice and point of view in the ludicrously male-dominated world of late-night TV.
