Clea Duvall first effort behind the camera has paid off in spades.
The character actress’s directorial debut, “The Intervention,” has been sold for “just north of $2 million” at Sundance to Paramount Home Media. The film is also competing in the festival’s U.S. drama section.
Duvall also wrote and co-stars in this homage to “The Big Chill,” which finds a married pair discovering that their weekend getaway with three other couples is actually an intervention for their relationship.
Melanie Lynskey, Cobie Smulders, Alia Shawkat and Natasha Lyonne also star.
PHM is planning a day-and-date VOD release in partnership with a third party to handle the theatrical rollout.
