Two months ahead of the release of her memoir, “Making a Scene,” word comes that Constance Wu will be producing a TV adaptation of “Natural Beauty,” the debut novel of concert violinist Ling Ling Huang. eOne landed rights to the book in a “very competitive situation,” per Deadline.

Slated for publication in April 2023, “Natural Beauty” follows a gifted pianist whose future is derailed after a family tragedy. “She finds herself recruited to work at an elite wellness company where beauty secretly comes at a horrific cost,” the source hints. The project is described as “a mix of the horror and social commentary of ‘Get Out’ and the intoxicating company culture of ‘The Dropout’ set within the world of beauty [and] wellness,” offering “a sardonic, pitch-black exposé of how the beauty industry does the dirty work of supremacy culture.”

Wu, last seen in “The Terminal List,” is producing via her Tempo Wubato Productions. The “Fresh Off the Boat” alumna’s film credits include box office hits “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Hustlers.”

“Making a Scene” hits shelves October 4. Its title is a nod to Wu being warned that “good girls don’t make scenes” as a child.
