Dakota Fanning and Helen Hunt will star in the road-trip drama “Please Stand By.”
Fanning will play an autistic genius who escapes her care facility to enter her screenplay in a screenwriting competition in Los Angeles. Hunt will be in pursuit as a caretaker at the facility.
Hunt, who won rave reviews for her performance as a sex therapist in “The Sessions,” will reunite with that film’s director here. The Oscar-winning actress-turned-filmmaker recently had her second directorial effort debut in theaters last Friday.
Listen to Women and Hollywood’s podcast with Hunt, in which she discusses her reasons for going behind the camera and what she learned about directing from Nancy Meyers.
