Over the weekend at the TCA’s, NBC announced that they are developing a four part mini-series about Hillary Clinton starring Diane Lane. It will be written and directed by Courtney Hunt, who wrote and directed the Oscar nominated Frozen River.
While there isn’t a script at the moment, the mini-series is set to focus on Clinton’s life in office–her time as first lady, senator, presidential nominee and secretary of state. NBC executive, Robert Greenblatt, doesn’t think that Clinton will endorse the project.
As we’ve previously reported, Rodham, about Clinton’s political beginnings is currently being developed with James Ponsoldt to direct. Despite rumors of Jessica Chastain, Carey Mulligan and Amanda Seyfried to play a young Clinton, there hasn’t been any official casting yet.
There’s no word on when the NBC project will begin shooting but it is slated to air before Clinton makes any formal announcements about running for President in 2016.
