Domenica Cameron-Scorsese’s “Almost Paris” Nabbed by Freestyle Digital

“Almost Paris”

Domenica Cameron-Scorsese has found a home for her feature directorial debut. Deadline reports that the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studio, Freestyle Digital Media, has acquired the North American rights to family dramedy “Almost Paris.”

The film centers on a former banker (Wally Marzano-Lesnevich, “The Depths”) “who returns to his hometown in the wake of the mortgage-lending crisis,” the source writes. “Faced with those he left behind and the impact of his actions, he learns to show up and give back to those he loves in ways that are priceless.” Abigail Hawk (“Blue Bloods”) and Michael Sorvino (“Chasing Gold”) co-star.

“It is my hope that the audience can connect and identify with the people in this story,” Cameron-Scorsese told us. “Perhaps one of the family members will remind them of someone they know and that recognition may lead to an emotional ‘ah-ha’ moment. I found this film shows the blessing of coming to want what you have — maybe the audience can connect to that.”

Cameron-Scorsese, daughter of Martin Scorsese and author Julia Cameron, is a Tribeca alum whose previous credits include shorts “Spanish Boots” and “Roots in Water,” both of which played at Tribeca Film Festival. The fest also hosted the world premiere of “Almost Paris.” Cameron-Scorsese is also an actress and directs theater.

“Almost Paris” is scheduled for a theatrical and digital release January 9, 2018. You can check out a previously released trailer for the pic below.
