Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions to Adapt Two New Projects

nullLionsgate has just bought two book adaptation projects that will be produced by Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions.

The first is based on Babe Walker’s (an alias for writers Tanner Cohen, David Oliver Cohen and Lara Schoenhals) comedic-psuedo memoir White Girl Problems about a socialite determined to show that even rich girls deserve sympathy too. Erica Oyama, writer of the hilarious Bachelor satire Burning Love, will be penning the script.

The other adaptation they’ve acquired is Heist Society based on Ally Carter’s novel about a woman who is from a family of thieves. She attempts to stop stealing but is sucked back in when her father is suspected of stealing artwork from a dangerous mobster. With her friend, she must get the artwork back to the mobster in two weeks. A writer isn’t attached to the adaptation yet.

As of now, Banks will only be working on both as a producer.
