Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon, and Jillian Bell Will Star in “Women in Business”

Emma Stone in “Birdman”: Fox Searchlight

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live,” “Ghostbusters”), and Jillian Belle (“22 Jump Street”) have signed on for the comedy “Women in Business.”

According to THR, the story revolves around “two competitive women who are sent on a business trip to Canada. There, they hire a third woman off Craigslist to act as their intern, which derails their trip.”

The script was written by Laura Steinel, who previously wrote for the Amazon original series “Red Oaks.” Her series “HR” was just picked up by Fox.

Speaking of Fox, despite the fact that it’s been exposed that they don’t have a woman director on their slate for the next two years, nor have they hired one for a live-action film in over five, they still haven’t brought a female director on for this project either. Jake Szymanski, who directed the upcoming Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” is attached to helm.

Still, Stone, McKinnon, and relative newcomer Bell will make for a great female-centric workplace comedy.
