Emma Watson is set to receive MTV’s second annual Trailblazer award which honors young actors who have created their own unique path in the industry. Last year’s recipient was Emma Stone.
Stephen Friedman, president of MTV, released a statement on Watson receiving the award.
Emma Watson endeared herself to fans as one of the most beloved and iconic characters of her generation. She’s been a constant presence in the lives of our audience for more than a decade and is continuing to challenge her craft with upcoming roles as radically diverse as her enormous talent.
Watson will receive the award at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Rebel Wilson, where she’s also nominated for three awards for her work in the terrific Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Watson will star in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring in June and will be in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Noah.
The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be on April 14th at 9:00pm.
