The women who brought Gabrielle Solis and Olivia Pope to our screens are teaming up. “Desperate Housewives” alumna Eva Longoria and “Scandal” star Kerry Washington have signed on to star in and produce “24–7.” Deadline reports that Universal acquired the pitch from “Love, Unscripted” writer Sarah Rothschild. Longoria will produce via her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment banner and Washington through her Simpson Street banner.
The project is described as a workplace comedy. No other details have been released, including a director.
Longoria scored a Golden Globe nomination in 2006 for “Desperate Housewives.” Her recent credits include “Empire,” “Decline and Fall,” and “Telenovela.”
Washington has received Golden Globe and Emmy nods for “Scandal” and for starring in and producing the HBO TV movie “Confirmation.” The latter marked Simpson’s Street’s first project. She portrayed Anita Hill in the legal drama.
