Exclusive: Sophie Marceau Gets a Fresh Start in LA in Lisa Azuelos’ “I Love America” Trailer

"I Love America"

“Some dream of a new life, and others, like me, make it come true,” says Sophie Marceau in “I Love America.” We’re premiering the English language subtitled trailer for the Prime Video comedy. From writer-director Lisa Azuelos, the French pic tells the story of Lisa (Marceau), a woman who decides to move from Paris to LA after her children leave home and her mother dies. She’s ready for a change, and her best friend Luka (Djanis Bouzyani), the owner of a successful drag queen bar, is ready to welcome her to the City of Angels.

Lisa is single, and Luka is quick to point out that her sex life “died three years ago.” He convinces her to try dating apps, but she’d rather “leave it to fate.”

Azuelos’ other credits include “Lost in the Disco” and “LOL.”

“I Love America” launches on Prime Video April 29.
