Exclusive: Women Make a Major Mark on WWII in “War Gamers” Trailer

"War Gamers"

The little-known WWII story of how a group of women helped defeat Germany’s U-boats is coming to the screen. A Curiosity original docu-series drama, “War Gamers” shines a light on this chapter of history, paying tribute to some of the greatest war gamers of their generation — an unlikely team made up of women who had never been to sea. In our exclusive trailer for the show, the women, recruited by the British Royal Navy, vow, “We will prove our worth.”

It’s clear that not everyone is convinced of their value. “This is war, not a bloody board game,” an angry higher-up bellows.

“War Gamers” revisits how the women’s “extraordinary skill and genius led to a crucial turning point, the Battle of the Atlantic,” per its synopsis. The series starts streaming September 22 on Curiosity.
