If you haven’t been following the scandal surrounding the sexual harassment charges against Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, you’ll soon have a motion picture that will fill you in on all of the details.
As The Hollywood Reporter writes, Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures has acquired a pitch for a feature film on the topic written by Charles Randolph, who penned “The Big Short.” The project “will focus on Megyn Kelly and the women who brought down the man once considered the most powerful in media with accusations of sexual harassment, as well as the wife, Elizabeth Tilson, who propped him up.”
Earlier this summer, Fox News reporter and on-air personality Kelly revealed that she was subjected to sexual harassment at the hands of Ailes, going into further detail in her memoir, “Settle for More.”
This week, Kelly told the audience at THR’s Women in Entertainment breakfast, “The women of Fox News who, with their stiletto shoes and nerves of steel, formed an underground army of sorts, and at great risk to their livelihoods, brought down a very powerful serial sexual harasser.”
She went public with her experiences shortly after Gretchen Carlson came forward with her own. Ailes promptly retired and had his lawyer publicly deny the charges.
Margaret Riley and Randolph will produce the untitled film alongside Ellison. Ellison, we recently reported, has been selected by the Producers Guild of America as the 2017 recipient of the Visionary Award.
